Blackburn 0 - 2 Chelsea
Chelsea claimed back top spot from Liverpool with a convincing win at Edwood Park on Sunday. Nicolas Anelka seems to be enjoying his status as the manager's favorite to be the sole striker (Didier Drogba did not even made the trip) as he scored both of Chelsea goals.
Though his first was a freakish one; the ball trickling over the line after Bosingwa's shot had accidentally hit Anelka, his second was taken with his usual elegant style. After Lampard had put him through, he lobbed the ball easily over Keeper robinson's despairing dive.
Chelsea may even had more goals if not for Robinson's acrobatic saves. Lampard was particularly frustrated as his trademark long range shots kept on finding the palms of the Blackburn Keeper. Even his superbly executed free kick was tipped superbly onto the bar.
Man City 1 - 2 Tottenham Hot Spurs
Harry Redknapp continued to weave his magic as Spurs manager as his side carved out a narrow win in a match which was marred by 3 red cards. Two of these were given to the home side and this certainly did play a part in Spurs fightback after they had gone a goal down from Robinho's early goal in the 16th minute.
However Fernandes Gelson was sent off in the 26th minute. With this one man advantage , Spurs striker Darren Bent continued his rich vein of form to score in the 29th and 64th minute. Red cards for Benoit Assou-Ekotto (89 minute)and Richard Dunne (83minute) completed the other score of 2-1. This win enabled Spurs to climb out of the bottom three and go up to 16th in the table.
Other Scores
Aston Villa 1 - 2 Middlesbrough
Fulham 2 - 1 Newcastle United
